Positano the Pearl of the Amalfi Coast
Positano is not just a perfect point of departure
for tours and excursions, but also a village full of activity and
life.
The houses, one on top of the other, the narrow streets – with
the numberless boutiques – descends rapidly between the houses,
like floods through the rocky mountain passes, and they all flow out
on the main beach “ Spiaggia Grande”. From there it may
be the only place where the view behind your shoulders above the village
is more beautiful than the view over the sea in front of you.
The other small beaches in Positano are Fornillo and Remese to the
west, and La Porta, Fiumicello, Arienzo and Laurito to the east.
Positano is not only beaches, some other pleasant excursions are those
up to the Lattari mountains above the village. After 3 km you will
find the village of Montepertuso and Nocelle.
From here begins the famous pathway “Sentiero degli
Dei” , Pathway of the Gods, with fantastic panoramic
views that are unique and unforgettable over the whole coast.
You can also decide to climb even higher up to one of the mountains
of Sant’Angelo a Tre Pizzi, which forms the highest summits
on the peninsula, they reach over 1400 meters.
